We are looking for a teacher to start DECEMBER 1ST at our lovely academy in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do. Please apply if you can transfer your E-2 visa or have an F visa.
The location is a 15-minute walk from Juyeop Station (line 3), and a 10-minute walk from Ilsan Station on the Kyungui line. There are also many buses that can get you to various points in Seoul. Ilsan itself is a clean residential city that has plenty of foreign restaurants and amenities.
At Premier Academy you would only teach elementary students. All students know phonics already. You would teach an average of FIVE 50-minute classes a day. The contract asks you to teach up to 30 classes, but you would rarely have to teach that many. The hours would be between 2:30 PM and 10PM, but you would never have to stay for that whole block of time. You could come to school just before your classes began and you could go home after your last class ended. However, we'd expect you to be professional and prepare well for all of your classes.
There is very little homework grading. However, we do want a teacher who will put in the necessary preparation time to make engaging and interactive classes. That may include adapting activities to the textbooks, or preparing other activities that can get students engaged in using English.
The books you would use would be reading books that the students should read at home before class. Your task would be to make sure the students understand the readings, and to get the students speaking as much as possible.
The pay would be 2.3 million won per month. You would get your own room and the usual benefits (airfare, pension, health insurance, severance). You could also opt for a housing allowance of 600,000 won. At our academy you will have no problems with creative accounting or late pay.
