Company Description
Direction
We are looking for an experienced F4(gyopo)or native English teacher (already in Korea and have all documents at hand) who can fill a full time position ASAP. (Beginning of July)
We are located just west of Seoul in one of the major new cities ( 신도시 ) Ilsan (No.3 yellow subway line, Juyeop Station).
Our students are mostly elementary with some middle and high school students. Our class size is around eight or less students per class to assure learning efficiency. The classrooms are networked to a database of curriculum materials and come equipped with internet accessed computers and wide projector screens. The internet access gives you much flexibility in teaching and benefits your lessons; nevertheless, the academy curriculum is systematized in such a way so that even inexperience native teachers can teach effectively. And effective teaching is what our school is all about. All our teachers are highly qualified and through their effective teachings we have built a high reputation in the local area.
Our pay and benefits are comparable to most academies: 2.0~2.5 mil (depending on experience) for 30 hrs teaching per week, 25,000 won per hour over time and the usual: single housing or housing allowance, bonus, and vacations. The housing is a newly constructed furnished studio, just few minutes from the hagwon and conveniently located close to the subway (No.3 Line) and the bus stations, or housing allowance of 400,000 won. Furthermore, I'm a director who is open to teachers doing private tutoring on their non-working hours. Thus, I've even obtained privates for the qualified teachers and even allowed the use of the hagwon facilities for private tutoring.
Our normal classes begin at 2:20PM and ends 8:50PM; nevertheless, the teachers are expected to come prior to class to prepare for their lessons. Initially, when teachers first join the staff, they sit-in on other teachers' classes to become familiarized with the curriculum and teaching methodologies. Even when classes are assigned, they are built up gradually to allow teachers time to adjust. Finally, our staff is warm and friendly. We have a supportive family like working environment, but we also expect each teacher to be responsible.
I ' m a gyopo director, who also teaches. I know what it's like to teach at hagwons: the good, the bad, and the ugly; been there, done that, and frankly, my hagwon is a great place to work if you want to feel appreciation for teaching. Money's not bad, good people, and low hassle environment. I will even provide you the contact information to the staff members here so you can ask them directly about the school.
