Company Description YBM Sisa is well known throughout Korea for offering competitive pay with job stability found at large corporations. Your salary, housing and working conditions are guaranteed by our Head Office, which was established in 1961 and has over 2500 full-time employees. YBM has numerous divisions catering to the sole purpose of English language education in Korea. Our publishing division is in charge of publishing the Korean edition and English edition of Newsweek, National Geographic, and Reader’s Digest as well as the Random House Korean-English Dictionary. YBM can be considered a multi-national corporation within the education industry with branches operating in China, Canada, and the Philippines. We also have joint programs with universities abroad such as the Beijing Language and Culture University in China, Aichi Sangyo University in Japan, and Eastern University in the United States. YBM is the official test administrator of the TOEIC exam in Korea and the Microsoft Office User Specialist exam. We also provide Chinese and Japanese language courses for our adult students. We even specialize in online education services provided by our e4u Cyber Language Institute. YBM generated over $420 million in revenue in 2005 and 2006. The Joongang Daily one of Korea’s most popular newspapers has referred to YBM as the “undisputed giant in Korea’s English education market”.

ECC is a division of YBM Education Inc., a part of YBM Sisa. Our ECC division was established in 1992 and was the first major chain of English schools devoted exclusively to teaching English to children. Currently there are more than 30 schools owned and operated by YBM Education Inc. throughout Korea, with many more openings planned for the near future. In addition to our company-owned schools, we have more than 70 franchise ECC schools that are independently operated by individual owners throughout Korea using our brand name, textbooks and curriculum.

Our academies average around 400 to 1000 students. Company-owned ECC's are modern and extremely well equipped with the latest in textbooks, copiers, supplementary teaching materials, and air-conditioned rooms.

ECC has an established curriculum that is constantly evolving to accommodate the most recent advances in ESL methodology, curriculum development and pedagogy. It is our belief that this is a necessary step in order for our ESL teachers to fully utilize and develop an environment conducive to language assimilation and training. Our company-owned ECC schools average 8 to 30 English teachers from Korea, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Non-franchised ECC schools are managed by employees of YBM Education Inc. and an equal number of Korean teachers compliment and assist the foreign staff.
